The motorhome stopover at the Parc Explor Wendel mining museum in Petite-Rosselle has lost electricity because of illegal connections to utility networks. A group of Travellers (gens du voyage) set up camp near the Vuillemin pit about ten days ago and connected illegally to networks, including for water. The hook-ups caused fuses to blow and cut power across the area, including the motorhome stopover, which opened in February 2026. At the time of the outage the stopover was occupied by motorhomers from Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany. The Forbach urban community, which owns the stopover, has commissioned an external company to restore the electricity supply, and an eviction order has been issued for the camp.
