Nearly 700 motorhomes gather at campsite in Guizhou province

Xiaomi announced the SkyNomad sub-brand and its first model, the hybrid SUV N90 (5.28 m). The 2+2+3 cabin can convert into an office, meeting room or bedroom. N70 and camper versions also presented.

Xiaomi has unveiled the Pengcheng N90, a new model available in standard and camper variants. The vehicle features a flat floor and extra-long rails, enabling the interior to be reconfigured into multiple layouts, including a single-person workspace, a lounge, or a family area. Dimensions: 5285/1998/1825 mm, wheelbase 3080 mm; the camper version is 1925 mm tall and has a pop-up roof with a bed. The cabin can be ordered with 5 or 7 seats, front seats rotate 180°, and the second row offers zero-gravity seats. Powertrain is a 1.5-litre petrol engine with electric motors; WLTC electric range is 363–370 km.

Ulanqab (Inner Mongolia) sees a rise in motorhome camping as a way to escape summer heat. In July 2025, the campsite at Jining International Leather City hosts visitors from across China. The campsite opened in late July 2025 and was upgraded in April 2026 with additional water points, toilets, showers, laundry, food stalls, and a WeChat service group. Plans include further expansion and separate zones for camper vans and motorhomes.

As of July 2026, no production motorhome is equipped with urban Navigate on Autopilot (NOA). Industry sources estimate a technology gap of at least two years before such systems become available. Hybrid pickup-based motorhomes (e.g., Chery Qijie G900 from 250,000 yuan) are considered the best current platform, but systems from Huawei, XPeng, and BYD have not been adapted for larger vehicles. Key challenges include enlarged blind spots, powertrain response delays, and a lack of regulatory framework for L2+ NOA on motorhomes. Users are advised to monitor takeover frequency, ramp success rate, and pedestrian detection performance.

From July 9 to 11, a free outdoor festival featuring motorhomes, camping, sports, markets and cultural activities will be held on the lawn east of Baikang Bridge in Kangbashi District, Ordos. The event runs daily from 10:30 a.m. to late night, with eight themed zones including motorhome displays, camping area, outdoor industry exhibition, fitness zone, lawn market and street photography spots. Daytime activities include eco-friendly bottle exchange for blind boxes, specialty coffee, intangible heritage workshops, live music, yoga, frisbee and tennis.
