Japanese convenience store chain Lawson has begun offering overnight car stays at its parking lots in four prefectures. The service targets holiday travelers and costs 2500–3000 yen per night. In addition to parking, customers can use toilets and electricity, and purchase products, which is expected to boost store sales.
According to one source, the company plans to expand the service to 70 stores within the current fiscal year. Another source reports the launch in four prefectures without specifying expansion plans.
