The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization signed a memorandum of understanding with Minican Camping & Mobility on August 28 to develop tourism products for foreign independent travelers, combining car camping, Pyeonghwa Nuri campsite, and DMZ visits.
The products will include campsite stays and DMZ visits, as well as packages with campsite rental and two-night accommodation. According to sources, packages will include at least one night at the campsite and a visit to one DMZ attraction, with optional variations.
In 2025, 80.1% of foreign tourists in Korea were independent travelers. Pyeonghwa Nuri campsite, operated by Gyeonggi since April 2024, welcomed about 1,600 foreign tourists last year.
