Motorhome Week: Shows and Sales in Nîmes, Hamm, and at Remy Frères

The TV trio 'Bodensee-Boys' from Hegau, including the girlfriend of one member, will soon appear again on RTL2 in the docu-soap 'Bella Italia – Camping auf Deutsch'. Since 2021, they have been filming at Europe's largest campsite in Italy. Sascha Bohner's girlfriend Raffaela Scondo has also gained recognition and receives initial advertising deals. Together, they have around 65,000 followers on Instagram.

The campsite in Rantum, the largest on the island of Sylt, offers 400 motorhome pitches, 70 tent pitches, and 20 year-round overnight parking spots. Prices for a fully equipped mobile home for four people during peak season are around €190 per night, while a couple with their own motorhome pays just under €50. In the low season, prices start at around €25. The site features a minimarket, restaurant, playground, and automated check-in.

The Beethoven Orchester held its annual concert at the BaseCamp hostel in Bonn. The performance took place against a backdrop of historic caravans, motorhomes, and sleeping carriages. Conductor Daniel Johannes Mayr adapted the performance to the unconventional space.

On the A7 motorway near Illertissen, a caravan's plastic roof hatch detached due to a technical defect. The part struck a following car, damaging its hood and roof, and another vehicle ran over the debris. Police estimate total damage at €6,300; no injuries were reported.

On the evening of June 6, a motorhome accident on the A8 near Anger (Bavaria) caused a massive traffic jam at the end of school holidays. Several impatient drivers turned around on the roadway and drove against traffic, using the emergency lane as a personal escape route. Police stopped some offenders; they face heavy fines, several months of driving ban, and penalty points.

Kirsten and Thomas Böhnhardt have been traveling with their self-built teardrop caravan for 15 years. In 2025, they covered over 7,000 kilometers, including a three-month trip to Southern Europe as far as Tarifa. Despite initial doubts about the plywood panels, the structure has proven durable over decades of use.
