The Government of the Canary Islands is drafting a law to regulate areas for motorhomes, caravans and campervans, while Fuerteventura authorities are studying limiting access for non-resident motorhomes and campervans. The island accounts for about 70% of all camper tourism in the Canaries. In Ajuy, a village of about 90 residents, there is no official motorhome area, but three free parking spots listed on Park4Night were used by campers in 2026. The nearest equipped motorhome area is in Tarajalejo, about 35 minutes away by road.
