This summer, hundreds of motorhomes travel the roads of Galicia, reflecting a boom in these vehicles despite local restrictions. The Galega de Autocaravanas Association (AGA), with about 800 members, notes that although the number of motorhome sites is growing, they are still insufficient. Galicia has more than 200 public sites, but finding a spot on the coast is difficult.
From October 1, a reform of traffic rules distinguishing parking from camping comes into force. Local restrictions, such as bans on overnight stays on beaches or height and weight limits, are introduced in municipalities like O Grove, Cangas de Morrazo and Boiro. According to AGA, existing sites are insufficient due to the increase in vehicles.
