Starlink: cost of satellite internet for cars, trucks and motorhomes

Robson Lunardi and Bel Albornoz, with no construction background, built the Araraúna motorhome on a chassis after finding professional services too expensive and scarce in Brazil. The 27 m² tiny house took about 15 months to complete and cost R$ 180,000. It includes two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, dry toilet, and off-grid energy systems.

On December 21, Palotina hosted the Paraná Motorhome Meeting, an event for RV enthusiasts. Local Civil Defense personnel were present to ensure safety, patrol the area, and assist participants and organizers.

A Brazilian designer unveiled a micro mobile home with just 1.95 m² of living space, built on the chassis of a compact Japanese pickup truck. Instead of a conventional trailer, the project uses a light utility vehicle with a custom wooden cabin insulated with foam and clad in lightweight panels. The interior includes a mini kitchen with a sink and an alcohol stove, a portable toilet, a fold-out bed, and a rooftop solar panel with a battery. The design is intended for short trips and as a demonstration of ultra-compact living, not for full-time occupancy.

SpaceX has introduced the portable Starlink Mini kit for internet in RVs and trucks. Equipment costs 500–799 Brazilian reais, with subscriptions from 339 BRL for 100 GB to 619 BRL for unlimited data.

Federal Deputy Acácio Favacho (MDB) started a new participatory mandate model in Amapá, using a motorhome as a mobile office. His first public hearing took place at the Mucajá housing complex in Macapá, where he also inspected the installation of solar panels. The 'Luz Baixa Mucajá' program, announced in March, will equip 592 apartments with photovoltaic systems at no cost to residents, with an estimated monthly savings of R$ 280 per household.

On July 17, a convoy of 20 motorhomes and trailers arrived in Pato Bragado (Paraná) as part of the 3rd stage of Circuito Caminhos do Paraná. Visitors can view the vehicles for free until 9 PM on Rua Maringá. From July 18 to 21, the caravan will visit four more cities in the state.
