Couple from Caxias do Sul plans motorhome expedition to Alaska

Rafael Busatto and Sana Porto, who built their own motorhome and changed careers to live on the road, have already traveled through 19 Brazilian states. They are now preparing for an international journey to Alaska, accompanied by their cat Pantufa.

The production of the Jair Bolsonaro biopic provided a motorhome for lead actors, converted into a dressing room with a living area, kitchen, and bathroom. Snacks, fruits, juices, coffee, cakes, and cookies were available inside. Extras received full meals with meat dishes.

Brazilian manufacturer Marcopolo Motorhome delivered the first unit of its Nomade 4x4 motorhome on May 23, 2026. The 7.5-meter vehicle is powered by a 175 hp Cummins diesel engine with an Allison automatic transmission. A side slide-out adds 16 m² of living space. The Victron energy system includes lithium batteries and flexible solar panels providing up to 800 W.

A motorhome caught fire on the morning of August 28 in Palhoça, Santa Catarina. The flames spread to a nearby residence. Three fire trucks and nine firefighters responded. No injuries were reported.

The municipality of Cabedelo, Paraíba, Brazil, announced a project to establish a motorhome park on the Intermares coastline. The initiative aims to organize the parking of recreational vehicles, which are currently scattered across the city.

Brazilian manufacturer Marcopolo handed over the first production Nomade motorhome to a businessman from Santa Catarina. The ceremony took place on March 23 at the company's plant in Caxias do Sul. The model features all-wheel drive, measures 7.5 m in length and 3.18 m in height. Prices range from BRL 1.5 million to BRL 2.5 million. Marcopolo plans to produce 10 units by the end of the year.
