The Borghi in camper community selected three camper-friendly destinations in the province of L'Aquila for October: Santo Stefano di Sessanio, Scanno and Pacentro. Santo Stefano di Sessanio in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park is known for its medieval stone architecture and a scattered hotel established in the 1990s. Scanno combines a historic centre with a lake and trails of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. Pacentro at the foot of Morrone and Majella features the 11th-century Caldora-Cantelmo castle. In late October Santo Stefano di Sessanio hosts the Night of the Lumère, while Pacentro holds the Feast of the Madonna del Rosario with the lu pallon tradition.
