A guide sets out how to calculate the capacity of a portable power station for a motorhome. Capacity is derived from the daily energy use of connected devices and the number of days before a reliable recharge, then checked against the combined power of devices running at the same time. Examples range from about 250 Wh for one day of small loads to 1470 Wh for two days with a small fridge and several devices. The calculation assumes 85% efficiency, a 20% reserve and a 330 Wh per day compressor fridge. The leisure battery powers fixed motorhome equipment separately, and its capacity is not added to that of the portable station.
