Former federal prosecutor Solange Mendes Souza launched the Piano Nômade project at 64, converting a motorhome to travel with a Roland digital piano. The motorhome was completed in November 2024, after which she made test trips in southern Brazil, spent a month in Uruguay and three months in Argentina. She plans a new, more powerful motorhome and a trip with an acoustic piano from Mexico to Alaska over 3–4 years, skipping Central America because shipping costs for that section would exceed the cost of transporting the motorhome directly to the other hemisphere.
