The Government of the Canary Islands has sent a draft regulation for outdoor tourist accommodations to the Consultative Council for legal review. The law, expected to take effect three months after publication, will impose safety and quality standards on camping sites, motorhome overnight areas, and novel lodgings such as cabins, yurts, and bubbles that have proliferated without oversight. It introduces a classification system for accommodation types, reduces administrative burdens via a declaration of responsibility, and prioritizes environmental protection in ecologically sensitive areas like Natura 2000 zones.
