Amendments to South Korea's parking law took effect on 28 August, allowing fines for campers and caravans left long-term on free public parking lots. Daegu authorities said they will focus on guidance rather than enforcement this year, as the city has only one dedicated public parking area for such vehicles, with 100 spaces in Suseong-gu. The city inspected 1,303 parking lots with 29,730 spaces; joint inspections are planned for the first half of 2026, and underused lots near industrial zones are being considered for conversion.
