The German automobile club ADAC has published a guide on parking and overnight regulations for motorhomes and caravans in Germany and Europe. In Germany, parking outside campsites to rest is allowed, but several EU countries impose restrictions: in Italy, overnight stays outside designated areas are prohibited; in Austria, camping in forests can result in fines up to €14,500. Sweden's 'right to roam' mainly applies to tents, while motorhomes must use marked spots. The guide also specifies parking requirements: minimum clearance for wide vehicles, distance from driveways, and a two-week limit for unhitched trailers in residential zones.
