According to the Pincamp (ADAC) 2026 analysis, Germany offers the most affordable five-star campsites in Europe, with an average cost of 57 euros per night. For comparison, the average price in Spain is 98 euros, and in Croatia it is 95 euros. The average price for a family of three in the high season in Germany is 41 euros per night, which is below the average for the 12 countries studied (49 euros).

According to PiNCAMP analysis, camping in Saxony in 2026 remains below the German average. A family of three will pay an average of 39 euros per night in high season, which is 8% more than the previous year but below the German average of 41 euros.

The German Federal Fiscal Court has ruled that private motorhomes are items of everyday use. This decision overturns the previous stance of the tax authorities, which held that profits from selling a motorhome within one year were taxable. Taxpayers can now cite this ruling to contest the taxation of such profits.

A motorhome campsite in Fürstenfeldbruck is closed for reconstruction following issues with vandalism and littering. The number of spaces will increase from 9 to 22, each with individual power hookups. The new operator Camping Car Park will install an automated access system and a 24/7 service station.

German manufacturer Rocket Camper has introduced the simplified camper van Rocket Base.
