Spain’s Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT) has issued updated guidance clarifying that properly parked campervans and motorhomes (within marked spaces, on wheels) have the same rights as cars, including overnight sleeping. Deploying awnings, tables, or chairs constitutes camping and is only allowed in designated areas. The DGT also introduced the S-128 sign for official wastewater disposal points. Local authorities retain the right to set parking duration limits and ban camping outside designated zones.
