Local councils in the UK are introducing new parking restrictions for motorhomes and campervans as a staycation boom puts pressure on larger vehicles. Insurance expert Mark Sheppard noted that rules vary by region, creating confusion for owners. In particular, a permanent ban on overnight parking has been introduced on the North Yorkshire coast in popular tourist spots.
Sheppard called for long-term solutions rather than reactive measures. Owners complain they are unfairly blamed for problems caused by all tourists.
