The UK Department for Transport (DfT) has responded to a petition with over 11,000 signatures, calling for Category B licence holders to be allowed to drive motorhomes weighing up to 4,250 kg. The current limit is 3,500 kg, restricting options for many drivers. The DfT stated it has not yet assessed the potential benefits of such a change, and any future amendments would be subject to public consultation. Previously, in June 2025, the UK extended similar allowances to all zero-emission vehicles up to that weight.
