Turkey begins dismantling illegal tiny houses in Marmara and Aegean regions

In Turkey, current prices for caravan rentals and campsites have been published. Renting a towable caravan costs between 1,000 and 5,000 liras per day, while a week-long rental ranges from 7,500 to 35,000 liras. Renting a motorhome costs between 3,500 and 15,000 liras per day, with a deposit required. Campsite fees range from 300 to 3,500 liras per night, electricity is charged separately (30–500 liras per day), and laundry costs about 200 liras. On the second-hand market, towable caravans sell from 55,000 to 5,750,000 liras, and motorhomes up to 28,000,000 liras.

In Seferihisar (Izmir), local residents complain about the growing number of caravans on the coastline, which create visual and noise pollution. In Datça (Muğla), inspections of camping with caravans and tents in forested areas and beaches have been intensified due to fire risk; violators are being removed.

The Bandırma municipality has opened the Şirinçavuş facility, offering free entry and complimentary use of sun loungers and umbrellas. The site features 150 loungers, a cafe and restaurant with a capacity of 300, and parking for 50 caravans. Mayor Dursun Mirza announced plans to expand the caravan park to 100 vehicles. The facility generates all its energy from solar panels.

In Datça district of Muğla province, Turkey, inspections of tent camps and caravan sites in forests and coastal areas have been intensified. Violators are warned and removed; checks continue all season.

The Beypazarı municipality has announced a ban on camping, tent pitching and caravan stays at the Karagöl recreation area until September 30, 2026. The ban is part of forest fire prevention measures adopted by the Bolu governorate, within whose borders the area lies. Picnicking is allowed only between 10:00 and 20:00.

The Izmir Camping and Caravan Association has called on authorities to establish safe, well-equipped and environmentally friendly caravan parks and campsites in the city. It cited caravan-friendly camping areas in Tunceli Ovacik, created by Governor Şefik Aygöl, as an example. The association expressed readiness to cooperate for the sustainable development of caravan tourism in Izmir.
