Motorhome owners in Argentina concerned over driving licence changes

Changes to professional driving licence regulations in Argentina affect motorhome and camper owners. Motorhomes and camper vans with a gross vehicle weight over 3,500 kg now require a C1 category licence, originally intended for freight transport. To obtain C1, the minimum age is 21 and the maximum age for first-time application is 65; from age 70, more frequent medical checks are required and the licence validity is reduced to one year. According to the first national census of motorhome owners, many are over 65. The Buenos Aires province government extended national licences for interjurisdictional transport by 120 days, but analysis for motorhomes was deferred to a second stage.
