The president of the Autonomous Motorhome Platform (P.A.C.A.), Jesús Gallardo, supported the new outdoor accommodation regulation being prepared by the Canary Islands Tourism Ministry. He noted that the archipelago still lacks legal campsites, putting it 60 years behind mainland Spain. The 18-article regulation sets requirements for motorhome areas, which are currently absent, leading to informal parking on beaches and commercial lots. All nine associations involved in the consultation approved the document.
