Spain's Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) has clarified the rules for overnight stays in motorhomes and campers on beaches. According to DGT, sleeping directly on the beach is prohibited under the Coastal Law. However, parking on designated lots near the beach may be permitted, provided municipalities have not imposed additional restrictions.
Fines for violations vary by source: one reports up to 30,000 euros, another up to 3,000 euros. DGT updated its relevant order in March.
