Spain's Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) has issued new instruction PROT 2026/04, replacing the 2023 version and clarifying the frequency of technical inspections (ITV) for motorhomes and camper vans.
According to the instruction, motorhomes older than 4 years must be inspected every two years, and those older than 10 years annually. Campers up to 10 years old require annual inspections, while those over 10 years old must be inspected every six months. The cost of the inspection ranges from 120 to 150 euros, and drivers can undergo it in any autonomous community.
