In the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí, a proposal has been made to introduce permits, oversight and administrative fines for the use of motorized recreational vehicles, including RVs, in protected natural areas. The initiative was filed by lawmaker Gabriela Guadalupe Martínez Vázquez, who proposed amendments to the state's Environmental Protection Act.
According to the author, no recreational activity should be placed above the protection of ecological heritage. The plan also includes creating a registry of companies providing such services and approving permitted routes. The initiative aims to balance tourism and ecosystem conservation.
