Greece is again attractive for motorhome tourism after police clarified parking rules. In 2025, an ambiguous tourism law cut the number of motorhomes from 50,000 to 5,000. With the new Highway Code (N. 5209/2025) and police intervention, parking motorhomes up to 7.5 m is now treated like passenger cars, and stopping without external equipment is not considered camping.
According to the police directive, in built-up areas motorhomes up to 7.5 meters can park without time limits, while longer motorhomes and all caravans are limited to 24 hours. Outside built-up areas, parking is allowed in designated spots without time limits, but deploying external equipment is prohibited as it constitutes illegal camping.
