The Association of Professionals of Motorhomes and Caravans of Greece (SEARTEE/Σ.Ε.Α.Ρ.Τ.Ε.) has published clarifications on new parking rules following a clarifying police directive (No. 1246/26/351380) and the entry into force of the new Road Traffic Code (Law 5209/2025). The document was coordinated with the ministries of infrastructure, tourism and the police.
Key provisions
- In built-up areas: motorhomes up to 7.5 m in length — parking without time limit; longer than 7.5 m — up to 24 hours; caravans (trailers) of any length — up to 24 hours.
- Outside built-up areas: parking allowed on the shoulder or right side of the road if no prohibitory signs are present, with no time limit.
- Simple parking without deploying equipment (awnings, tables, chairs) is not considered illegal camping and is lawful.
