The future of an unauthorised caravan park in Fifield will be decided at appeal hearings on 24 November. In January, residents raised concerns about traveller pitches on land opposite the junction of Oakley Green Road and Fifield Lane, after which a temporary stop was placed on further development.
The Royal Borough refused a retrospective application for a change of use of green belt land to a residential caravan park with four pitches for gypsies/travellers, citing flood risks and highway safety. Applicant Martin Colley appealed the decision, and a government planning inspector will now make the final ruling after the hearings.
