The UK government has issued a warning for caravan owners planning to travel abroad: trailers over 750kg must be registered with DVLA before departure. Since August 2025, registration is mandatory for most European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. Failure to comply may result in border refusal, a fine of up to £2,500, and three penalty points for improper towing mirrors.
