Spain's DGT (Directorate General of Traffic) has updated criteria for motorhomes to clarify how regulations should be applied and prevent arbitrary fines. The basic rules remain unchanged, but interpretation is refined: parking is not considered camping unless external elements (awning, tables, chairs) are deployed or liquids are discharged. For camper vans (converted vans), modifications must be homologated; otherwise, issues with the ITV (technical inspection) and fines may arise.
