Winnebago Unveils Two Compact Motorhomes: Elora/Resa and Arka 20Z

The city of Ionia, Michigan is considering amendments to its camping ordinances ahead of the Billy Strings' Ionia Freak Fair, which is expected to draw up to 28,000 visitors. The proposal would allow residents to host up to four tents or two RVs on their properties with a 14-day limit, and require state licensing for larger campsites. A public hearing and final vote on the revised regulations is scheduled for August 5.

Winnebago introduced the Elora and Resa, compact Class C motorhomes based on the Ram ProMaster. The 20-foot (6.1 m) vehicle seats six and sleeps four, powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine. It features a single fuel system, lithium battery, and a hybrid bathroom. Starting price is $153,772.

California startup Aboard RV has unveiled the T4, a 7.3-meter hybrid-electric travel trailer capable of seven days of off-grid operation. It features a 41 kWh battery and a 60 kW onboard generator, providing 200 kWh of total energy. Pricing starts at $80,000 (approximately €73,000).

Plumas County, California, officials are surveying parcels where people live in RVs after the 2021 Dixie Fire destroyed 362 homes. An emergency ordinance allowing long-term RV occupancy expired June 30, making it illegal again under county zoning and state health codes. As of July 7, 36 households were identified living in RVs. Officials say enforcement will be 'soft' and are helping residents find alternative housing.
