In Solvang, California, residents and city leaders are opposing a proposal to convert a former lumber yard into a glamping resort with 31 Airstream spots. The project, reviewed by the Design Review Committee, faces resistance due to its location requiring Spanish Mission-style architecture. Critics argue it is essentially a trailer park and have called for redesign.

MRCOOL has introduced the TravelCool, a 15,000 BTU rooftop heat pump for RVs and travel trailers. The unit operates at 55 dB in Eco mode and 59 dB in Turbo mode, stands 11 inches tall, and is available in ducted and ductless configurations. It cools to 63°F in outdoor temperatures up to 109°F and heats to 81°F in temperatures as low as 41°F. The launch follows RVIA data showing 37 million Americans planned RV trips in summer 2026.

According to the RV Industry Association's (RVIA) July 2026 survey of manufacturers, total RV shipments reached 19,948 units, an 11.9% decrease from 22,633 units in July 2025. Through seven months, shipments are down 13.9% to 183,592 units compared to 213,338 at the same point last year. Towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, fell 9.8% to 17,754 units, while motorhomes dropped 25.6% to 2,194 units. Park model RVs increased 29.7% to 410 units in July and are up 24.5% year-to-date with 3,015 units shipped.
