Police have received a report of a burglary in the Långemåla area, in Mönsterås municipality. Between 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, and midnight the following day, someone forced open a caravan door and window, causing damage to both. The owner found the caravan in disarray and items missing. As of Friday morning, no inventory of stolen goods had been provided, so it is unclear what was taken.

The cause was a dispute with Skrotfrag AB, to which a debt was not paid. A warehouse of almost 1,000 square meters is full of spare parts that will be sold off. The price difference compared to new parts can reach 500 euros; for example, a Dometic Seitz S4 window costs about 778 euros, while a used one could be bought for under 300 euros.

Västra Götalands Husvagnsskrot, a company specializing in dismantling caravans, has been declared bankrupt by the Gothenburg court. The trustee, Susanne Wiklund, announced a sale of a huge inventory of spare parts and numerous old caravans. The bankruptcy follows a debt dispute with recycling firm Skrotfrag AB, which filed the petition in early summer. Caravan owners can expect to buy spare parts at reduced prices soon.
