Starting with Model Year 2028 (available in 2027), new RVs will have grounding monitor interrupters (GMIs). If the electrical power source has unaddressed grounding issues, a GMI-equipped RV will not accept power, and equipment will either not turn on or shut off. The RV Industry Association and the cross-industry GMI Task Force, in partnership with the RV Dealers Association, have launched a resource hub at rvia.org/GMI with dealer-specific materials including a one-pager, technical backgrounders, and testing and inspection guidance.
