Westfalia cuts one third of jobs at main plant

Mercedes-Benz is preparing a luxury version of its new electric van VLE under the Maybach brand. The model will have a range of 700 km, an 800-volt architecture, and may include first-class individual seats or a home cinema system. Competitors in the market include the Denza D9, Buick Encasa, Zeekr 009, and the hybrid Lexus LM.

A 1986 Lada 2106 sedan with 37,000 km mileage is listed for sale in Germany together with a 1988 camper trailer. The trailer sleeps two, has a gross weight of 650 kg, and a valid technical inspection until June 2026. The asking price for the set is 10,500 euros.

The German motorhome Hymer ML-T has received two off-road modifications, CrossOver and Crosstrail. Based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, they feature off-road tires, underbody protection, and an extended autonomy package for up to 10 days. Prices start from 159,900 euros.

Two vehicles were severely damaged in an accident on the B203 highway in Kappeln. A motorhome crashed into a guardrail following a collision. Two ambulances and an emergency doctor were dispatched to the scene.

The motorhome manufacturer Capron from Neustadt in Saxony has been named the training company of the year 2025/2026 in the district of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge. The company invests in training infrastructure, including a training workshop and on-site dormitory, and currently trains 45 apprentices and five dual students. The award was presented by the Saxony Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which selected the company from approximately 2,500 training companies in its district.

The city of Mössingen has transferred the management of the popular but outdated motorhome parking lot near the outdoor pool to a private company. Last year, the site on Firstwaldstraße recorded over 1,400 overnight stays. The authorities opted not to invest in modernizing the facility themselves and instead contracted Camping-Car Park Deutschland GmbH.
