The Ford Nugget camper van, launched in 1986 as a joint project with Westfalia on the Ford Transit platform, celebrates its 40th anniversary. A limited retro series styled after the original black-and-white design is now available for order in Europe from €89,646.
The compact camper van Ford Nugget marks 40 years since its launch in 1986. The model was created as a joint project between Ford and Westfalia based on the Ford Transit. Over four decades, the Nugget evolved from a basic camper into a family of versions, including models with a private bathroom and all-wheel-drive off-road variants. The fifth generation, introduced in 2023, features a hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive.
To celebrate the anniversary, a limited retro series has been released, styled after the original black-and-white design. The special edition features a pop-up roof with additional sleeping space and special badging, but is technically identical to the base model on the Transit chassis with a 2.0-liter diesel engine. The camper is already available for order in Europe starting at €89,646, with first deliveries scheduled for spring 2026.
