Lightship has announced a 44,000-square-foot expansion of its factory in Broomfield, Colorado, aiming to more than quadruple production of the electric AE.1 trailer by the end of 2026. The base price of the model now stands at $157,500, and the 77 kWh battery has become standard. Over 80% of component value is sourced from the United States.
As of early 2026, mass production of electric RVs for retail customers has not begun. The only series model available is the self-propelled Lightship AE.1 trailer, while major manufacturers such as Winnebagoⓘ and Thor remain at the prototype or pilot-rental stage.
