Alpine, a Japanese car electronics manufacturer, has introduced its first air conditioner for camper vans, the 'DC Cooler ECO System', at the Japan Camping Car Show 2026. The product was developed after an Alpine employee, himself a camper van user, proposed creating an ideal air conditioner for overnight stays. The unit measures 525×290×160 mm and delivers 2.6 kW of cooling power, comparable to a household unit for an 8–10 tatami room. It features three air outlets (front and sides) controllable via remote, allowing targeted cooling of different areas. Additional features include a sleep mode that turns off the display backlight and indirect lighting.
