In Schmallenberg on Monday, 14 September, at around 15:20, police officers stopped a motorhome in a grocery store parking lot on Unterm Werth street. A check revealed that the vehicle was not registered, and the attached license plates belonged to a small car, a Peugeot 206, which had been deregistered in April 2025. The motorhome had been deregistered since June 2026. A man who identified himself as the owner admitted that the vehicle was not registered and that the plates did not belong to the motorhome. Police seized both license plates and the vehicle registration document, prohibited further driving, and are investigating suspicion of document forgery, license plate misuse, and possible violations of the compulsory insurance law and the tax code.
