On Monday, July 13, at about 12:04 PM, a camper caught fire in the village of Medinis-Striavininkai, Kaišiadorys District, Lithuania. According to one source, the fire spread to a nearby summer kitchen, which also sustained damage. Another source reports that the camper, a "Zuggabel" model, had already burned out by the time firefighters arrived, and the fire destroyed the summer kitchen and an annex.
The fire caused the kitchen roof to collapse, damaged three exterior walls, and left the interior covered in soot. There was no smoke detector in the building. An Opel car was saved. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
