Two injured in South Korea after converted camper van catches fire

A 1-tonne truck converted into a camper van caught fire at around 6.50pm on 6 October in a vacant lot in Sutong-ri, Buri-myeon, Geumsan County, South Chungcheong Province. According to the provincial fire service, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s suffered second-degree burns to their legs and hands while trying to extinguish the fire and were taken to hospital. The fire destroyed the vehicle and was put out by firefighters in about 30 minutes. Authorities believe a stove tipped over while water was being boiled inside the vehicle and are investigating the exact cause.
