Officers of the Bieszczady Border Guard unit and the Central Bureau of Investigation of Police found two caravans with a combined value of about 190,000 zloty. One was found in the Podkarpackie region and the other in Małopolska. The seizures took place on 29 and 30 October.
In Podkarpackie, officers found a 2019 Swift Elegance worth about 100,000 zloty. In Małopolska they seized a 2020 Elddis Avante valued at 90,000 zloty. In both cases investigators suspect interference with the VIN identification numbers. The caravans will undergo expert examination to establish their real details and origin.
The case concerns the trade in caravans stolen in Britain. The investigation is supervised by the District Prosecutor's Office in Opole. According to investigators, 38 such vehicles had been found in Poland by February this year, and 40 have now been seized in total. Investigators do not rule out further seizures.
