France, Spain and Portugal are currently experiencing wildfires. According to wildfire expert Kent Ballhorn, the season is starting earlier and fires are becoming more intense. Data from Copernicus shows 962 wildfires recorded by July 1, double the 20-year average. Over 1,000 firefighters are battling a blaze in Portugal, with Spain sending more than 100 firefighters and 46 vehicles to assist.
