Near Großheirath (Upper Franconia), a 55-year-old pilot made an emergency landing of his gyrocopter on federal highway B4 due to a technical malfunction. The aircraft landed on the roadway and rolled along the road, colliding with an oncoming motorhome driven by a 75-year-old man.
The rotating rotors damaged the motorhome's roof. Police estimated the damage at €7,000. No one was injured. The pilot was en route from Bavaria to Lower Saxony.
