On Saturday, June 20, 2026, a heavy motorhome and a semi-trailer truck collided on the A23 near Müllheim in the canton of Thurgau. According to police, the motorhome struck the truck during an overtaking maneuver, then crashed through the left guardrail, overturned and came to rest on the opposite carriageway.
The 50-year-old driver of the motorhome was trapped in the cab and freed by firefighters; he sustained minor to moderate injuries. His 74-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to hospital. The truck driver was unhurt. Property damage is estimated at several hundred thousand francs. The Thurgau cantonal police forensic service has been called in to investigate the cause. The affected section of the A23 was closed for several hours during rescue and investigation work.
