On Saturday, 12 September 2026, a collision involving three vehicles occurred in Eschenz, canton Thurgau. A 63-year-old driver began overtaking a motorhome on a slight left bend in a wooded area, resulting in a side collision with the motorhome and a head-on collision with an oncoming car driven by a 41-year-old. The 41-year-old's car overturned and came to rest on its roof; he and his 35-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital. The 63-year-old driver was deemed unfit to drive, his licence was confiscated, and urine and blood samples were ordered. Property damage amounts to several tens of thousands of Swiss francs.
