A German couple from Elterlein (Erzgebirge) was attacked while sleeping in their campervan on Sardinia near Villacidro. Four shots were fired at the vehicle around 5 a.m., piercing the window, seats, and furniture. One bullet was found in the bedsheet, missing the occupant by about 20 cm. Police recovered four cartridges (three shotgun, one bullet). The couple used their phone's emergency function despite no signal. A police officer had earlier given permission to stay overnight. The holiday was cut short; the couple returned to Germany.
