A fire broke out in a static caravan on Undley Road in Lakenheath, Suffolk (some sources say Lavenham), spreading to outbuildings, a fence and vegetation. Crews from Suffolk, Norfolk and the US Air Force base at Mildenhall responded around 08:14–08:15 BST.
Two people were affected: according to one source, they were treated at the scene; according to another, they were taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital by road. Two ambulances, a paramedic car, a hazardous area response team and the East Anglian Air Ambulance helicopter were also dispatched.
Due to the fire's proximity to power lines, some roads were closed, and police and UK Power Networks were called. Firefighters continue to damp down hotspots. The cause of the fire has not been established.
