Night fire in Brindisi destroys converted camper van

The municipality of Elva (Maira Valley) has announced a tender for the management of the 'La Sousto dal Col' shelter and the adjacent camper van area at Colle delle Cavalline. Renovation works funded by the PNRR are nearly complete.

A survey conducted at the Salone del Camper (Parma, September 12–20, 2026) found that 25.7% of motorhome owners travel with their dog, influencing route and stop choices. Municipal police removed a motorhome parked in front of the community in Vasto, used by volunteers supporting the Trevallion Birmingham family. The vehicle was found to be uninsured, as the policy had expired four days earlier and the 15-day grace period had passed. Owners paid approximately 600 euros in fines and fees to recover it. Despite the seizure, volunteers continue their protests, including demonstrations at the juvenile court in L'Aquila and weekly prayer gatherings.

In Marcellise (Verona), overheating of a photovoltaic system ignited the roof of two rural houses. The fire broke out on Saturday afternoon, causing damages exceeding 300,000 euros and rendering both buildings uninhabitable. The owner, a journalist, is temporarily living in his motorhome. No injuries were reported.

On June 6, a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a motorhome occurred on provincial road 58 in Piancandoli (Mugello). The 45-year-old motorcyclist from Imola sustained multiple injuries and was airlifted to Careggi hospital. The motorhome was carrying a family from Emilia. Carabinieri are investigating.

In Turin, on Via Negarville at number 31, a motorhome has been parked in a double row for months. District 2 councilor Alessandro Nucera has sent a new report to the city, requesting intervention by the local police. The vehicle reduces the roadway, forcing drivers into alternating one-way traffic, causing congestion and safety risks.
