A foreign motorhome caught fire on Avinguda de Salou in Reus, near the bus station, on Tuesday 20 October. For reasons that are not yet known, the vehicle started burning and several explosions followed. The flames spread to a tree and to vehicles parked on the road.
The alarm was raised at 13.11. Two fire crews from the Generalitat fire service attended, along with patrols of the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Reus city police and an emergency medical unit. Firefighters worked to put out the flames, and traffic on the avenue was temporarily stopped while they intervened.
Two people and a dog were travelling inside the motorhome. All three were unhurt. A large column of smoke was visible from several hundred metres away.
